Patrick has a Bachelor of Science, Accounting and Information Systems, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) cum laude; Master of Science, Accounting and Information Systems, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
Patrick's practice areas focus on business valuations and litigation support matters, in addition to providing tax compliance and planning services to businesses and individuals. After starting his career at Arnett & Foster, P.L.L.C., Patrick served as the financial controller for the North American operations of a global automotive parts manufacturing group and later worked as the Chief Financial Officer of a closely held coal mining venture. After leaving the industry life, Patrick joined a Top 15 public accounting and consulting firm where he contributed to the tax compliance and advisory practices of the organization, working primarily with corporate and pass-through entities as well as their owners. These included private equity financed, multi-jurisdictional entities operating primarily in the Energy and Manufacturing arenas. Additionally, he has experience in state and local tax matters including sales and use tax studies, manufacturers’ credits, and production taxes.
Patrick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants; Charleston Area Tax Group; Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center, Past Director; Kanawha Valley Mining Institute; Marshall University, Lewis College of Business, Division of Accountancy and Legal Environment Advisory Board Member Past Member, Member of the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army, Charleston, (WV) Area Command.
